Project 01 – 33XC 34″ Twist 1:7 Right

This project started life as my wish to have a ULR rifle in 33XC.
After some research, as an engineer, I like the principles of the tacomHQ Structured barrel.
At the time, I was neither a Gunsmith or Registered Firearms Dealer.

I used KeyCreator 3D CAD to design both the muzzle brake and the spacer required between the muzzle brake and the Structured barrel.
The muzzle brake is a variation on David Tubb’s 5 star muzzle brake.
The spacer between the muzzle brake and the Structured barrel had to maintain ventilation of the Structured barrel..
It required a 5 Axis CNC machine to make the parts.

This is the 3D image from the CAD.

To carry out a Sanity Check, I then 3D printed the parts.
